About
Why Diat exists
Nutrition advice is loud, contradictory and usually selling something. We wanted one place that reads the research carefully and then says what it found, plainly.
The problem we kept running into
Ask a simple question about food โ how much protein, whether breakfast matters, what fibre actually does โ and you get three confident answers and a product recommendation. The underlying research usually exists. It is just locked behind paywalls, written for specialists, and summarised by whoever stands to profit from the summary.
Diat is the attempt at a fix. Every article starts from the literature rather than from a headline, and ends with the honest version: what the evidence supports, how confident anyone should be, and what is still genuinely unknown.
What we stand for
Plain-spoken
No lecturing, no moralising about food, no words you would have to look up. If a sentence only makes sense to someone with a physiology degree, it gets rewritten.
Evidence-led
Claims are tied to published research, and we say how strong that research actually is. A single small trial does not get written up as settled science.
We read the studies
Somebody has to sit with the full text, the methods section and the funding statement. That is the job. You get the one article at the end of it.
No supplement money
We do not take payment, product or sponsorship from supplement companies, and we never will. There is no version of this site where a powder buys a paragraph.
Who writes this
Articles are published under the Diat editorial byline unless a named contributor wrote them. Everything is researched by a writer and then checked by a second pair of eyes before it goes out โ the full process is set out in our editorial policy.
We would rather say less and be right than fill a content calendar. If a topic needs a qualified clinician to review it, it waits until one has.
Placeholder
Team details still to be added here: who started Diat, who writes and reviews, their real qualifications, where we are based and how the site pays for itself. We would rather leave this blank than fill it with something we cannot stand behind.
How the site pays for itself
Supplement money is the obvious way to fund a nutrition blog and the fastest way to lose the point of one, so it is off the table permanently. Any revenue that does keep the lights on is disclosed on the page it affects and summarised in the editorial policy.
If a commercial arrangement would change what an article says, we turn it down.
